Terms of Service

Last updated: May 18, 2026

1. Introduction

This website is operated by ShotEdit. Throughout the site, the terms "we", "us" and "our" refer to ShotEdit. By accessing or using ShotEdit, including our website, browser-based editing tools, account features, paid plans and AI-powered services, you agree to these Terms of Service and to any policies linked from these Terms.

If you use ShotEdit on behalf of a company or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

2. The Service

ShotEdit provides online image and screenshot tools, including background removal, image compression, screenshot beautification, rounded corners, format conversion and related features. Many tools process files locally in your browser. Some features, including Pro AI background removal, may require sign-in and may temporarily upload your image for server-side processing.

We may add, change, suspend or remove features at any time. We try to keep ShotEdit available, but we do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or available in every location.

3. Accounts and Subscriptions

Certain features require an account. You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for all activity under your account. ShotEdit Pro is offered through monthly or yearly subscription plans. Prices, billing intervals and taxes are shown before checkout.

Payments are processed by Stripe or another payment provider we make available. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can manage or cancel your subscription from your ShotEdit account page or the billing portal. Unless required by law or stated otherwise at checkout, fees are non-refundable and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period.

4. User Content and File Processing

You retain ownership of images, screenshots and other content you provide to ShotEdit. You grant us a limited right to process that content only as needed to provide, secure, debug and improve the Service, including transmitting content to service providers when a server-side feature requires it.

You represent that you have the rights needed to upload, edit and download any content you use with ShotEdit, and that your content does not violate another person's rights, applicable law or these Terms.

5. Acceptable Use

You may not use ShotEdit to:

  • violate any law, regulation or third-party right;
  • upload or process content that is illegal, harmful, abusive, exploitative or infringing;
  • attempt to bypass usage limits, quotas, authentication, billing or security controls;
  • interfere with, overload, reverse engineer or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure;
  • introduce malware, automated abuse, scraping or other harmful activity.

We may restrict, suspend or terminate access if we believe your use violates these Terms or creates risk for ShotEdit, other users or third-party providers.

6. Intellectual Property

ShotEdit, the website, software, design, logos, trademarks and related materials are owned by ShotEdit or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not give you ownership of ShotEdit or its intellectual property.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to access and use the Service for personal or business image editing workflows.

7. Third-Party Services

ShotEdit may rely on third-party providers for hosting, authentication, analytics, payment processing, storage and AI processing. Those providers may process data according to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services that we do not control.

8. Privacy

Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how ShotEdit handles information related to your use of the Service. The Privacy Policy is part of these Terms by reference.

9. Disclaimers

ShotEdit is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, accuracy and reliability.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ShotEdit will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, service interruption or business interruption arising from or related to your use of the Service.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles, unless applicable consumer protection law gives you rights that cannot be waived.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of ShotEdit after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
