ShotEdit uses open-source and commercial third-party services to provide browser image tools, authentication, payments, hosting, and analytics. This page highlights user-visible dependencies and notices that are relevant to the current product.
Open-source Libraries
- heic-to: used for browser-side HEIC/HEIF image decoding in the HEIC to JPG workflow. The package is licensed under LGPL-3.0.
- pdfjs-dist: used for browser-side PDF page rendering in the PDF to JPG workflow.
- jszip: used to package multiple generated JPG files for download.
- Astro, React, Tailwind CSS, Ant Design, and lucide-react: used to build and render the ShotEdit web interface.
Service Providers
- Cloudflare: hosting, static assets, security, caching, and runtime infrastructure.
- Clerk: authentication and account session management.
- Stripe: checkout, subscriptions, and billing management.
- Google Analytics: aggregate product analytics when analytics is enabled.
Local Processing
Core conversion and utility workflows are designed to run in the browser. Some libraries are downloaded as client-side chunks only when a matching tool requires them, such as HEIC/HEIF decoding or PDF rendering.
